Officer Charles McKinley was shot and killed when he went to a residence to investigate a domestic disturbance. A man had came home drunk and was arguing with his wife. As officer McKinley got to the scene the man who was drunk was in the house by himself and his wife and kids were next door. Officer McKinley got to the steps in the house he yelled for the man to come downstairs so they could talk. The man replied no and officer mckinley started up the steps. As he got to the top of the steps he was shot and killed instantly. With a gunshot to the chest by a 30-30 hunting rifle. The man shot officer mckinley`s car and then committed suicide.

Officer McKinley had served with the agency for 2.5 years. He was survived by his wife.
