Deputy John Gunsell was thrown from the passenger seat
of a patrol car during a rollover accident just before 3:30am.
Deputy Andrew Nobliski was driving the patrol on Dickerson road in
Gaylord. Sergeant Dennis Reynolds from the Michigan State Police
Gaylord Post says the two officers were responding to another
accident when Deputy Nobliski misjudged a curve. The patrol car ran
off the road and overturned, ejecting Deputy Gunsell from the car.
State police say the Deputy driving was wearing
his seat belt, deputy Gunsell was not. Deputy Gunsell died later at
the Otsego Memorial Hospital.
Deputy Gunzell is survived by his wife and four children.

I was proud to have known John. I will
never forget his kindness, courage and the honor he showed in his
professional and personal life. His smile brightened my day and his
laughter and jokes made me care for him more than I can say. I miss
him deeply. I pray for his children, parents, brother and friends
daily. I know he is in heaven looking out for all of us now, just as
he did in his life here on earth. His loving girlfriend,

May your families, friends and loved
ones find comfort in the fact that you did not give all in vain. For
your memory will forever be honored in the job that you did everyday,
keeping them and others you did not know as well as us, your partners,
out of harms way. Rest in honor and peace fallen warriors...

Rest in peace brother, and
may God allow him
to keep watch over us on earth while he patrols his beat

Our prayers go out
to the Officer and his Department and family.
May they all find peace in their hearts soon.
