US Border Patrol Monday lost two agents 31-year-old Travis Attaway and 29-year-old Jeremy Wilson. They drowned after their patrol boat capsized in the Rio Grande near Los Indios. their 19-foot Predator patrol boat encountered turbulent water, the river was exceptionally high following several days of heavy rain. another agent, Border Patrol Capt. Javier Sandoval, 38who was in the boat Sunday was rescued. Captain Javier Sandoval of Brownsville is recovering at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. There's no word yet on whether the three men were wearing life preservers during their routine patrol near the Los Indios International Bridge. The site is a rural area about ten miles south of Harlingen. The patrol boats are used to patrol up and down the river in search of undocumented immigrants or contraband.




Border Patrol agents search the Rio Grande on Monday for missing agents Travis M. Attaway and Jeremy M. Wilson, who were reported missing after their boat capsized Sunday on the rain-swollen Rio Grande near Los Indios. Cpt. Javier Sandoval was rescued and taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.
