Prairie View Officer Jerome Sobieski was sitting on the shoulder of Highway 290 when a pickup slammed into the back of his 1999 Crown Victoria. The officer was killed instantly Sobieski’s patrol unit reportedly rolled about 700 feet before
before bursting into flames when the gas tank erupted from the crash. The driver of the pickup was traveling over 100mph
He was not hurt.
He could face charges if tests come back showing he'd been drinking.
