 Ten-year veteran
of the Peoria
Police Department is dead and her partner injured. The fatal
accident happened just before 9:30 p.m. while the officers were
responding to a call for back-up. Witnesses say the squad car
struck a light pole at Adams Street and Van Buren, wrapping itself
around the pole and throwing the vehicle's engine some thirty feet
away from the car. It took firefighters more than half an hour to
free Tindall's body from the mangled car. The second officer in the
car
survived,
and was taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center for treatment.
