Cause of Death: Vehicle Accident


Henry County Policeman Officer Charles Haist was killed when his cruiser collided with another vehicle while the officer was on his way to a distress call. Haist, died while being airlifted to Henry Medical
Center, he died before reaching the hospital, The accident happened about 5:30 a.m. on Ga. 20 near Interstate 75. Authorities said his cruiser collided with a Dodge pickup truck before the car overturned, coming to a rest on the front of a lawn of a Taco Bell restaurant. The driver of the pickup was also rushed for medical treatment to Henry Medical Center. It was not immediately clear how the accident occurred
or who was at fault in the crash.

The officer was responding to a call for help from other officers who were trying to thwart a burglary at Premier Wireless Solutions on Eagles Landing Parkway. Three suspects, who allegedly tried to run over one of the

responding officers, were ultimately arrested following the incident. Authorities identified those suspects as (seen below right) Bruce Austin, 18, of Riverdale; Stacey Seaborn, 18, of Atlanta; and Deangelo Myers, 19, of College Park. Each suspect was charged with burglary and two counts of aggravated assault.
