A White Hall police officer has been killed in the line of duty. 47-year-old Johnny Lane Shaner of Tyler died in a car accident Friday.Lowndes County sheriff's deputies say Shaner was chasing someone on Route 9 just outside the city limits when he lost control of his patrol car. It's believed the car then hit another car. Alabama State Troopers are conducting an investigation, which is not yet complete. No cause of death has been announced. WSFA 12 News has been told that Shaner leaves behind a wife and three children.
