Officer Michael Crawshaw was shot and killed
after responding to a call along Johnston Road in Penn Hills around 8:30pm.
Police are still searching for a suspect in the deadly shooting that also
claimed the life of another man.
Allegheny County Police Supt. Charles Moffat says Crawshaw was apparently
waiting for backup to arrive when he was killed. "it appears that the
officer was shot while he was still in his radio car on the street."
Another man was also killed in the incident. Danyal Morton,40, was
found dead inside the home. The cause and manner of his death is still
pending.
After the shooting, police launched a massive manhunt for a person of
interest in connection with the incident that they said was considered armed
and extremely dangerous.
Crawshaw, as a 2.5-year veteran of the Penn
Hills Police Department.
He had previously served with the
University of Pittsburgh Police Department. |
