Corporal Christopher Milito was struck and killed by a vehicle while conducting an accident investigation in Philadelphia, on the Pennsylvania side of the bridge near the tolls.

He was on the Walt Whitman Bridge conducting an investigation into an earlier accident when he was struck by a passing vehicle. Corporal Milito was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he died.

Corporal Milito had served with the Delaware River Port Authority Police Department for 16 years.
