Trooper Jill Mattice New York State Police, New York End of Watch: Wednesday, January 20, 2010 Age: 31 Badge Number: NA Years on The Job: 6.5 Cause of Death: Automobile accident   State Police say Mattice, age 31, was traveling eastbound on State Route 23 when she collided with a tractor trailer heading west.  Mattice was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Trooper Mattice was a 6 1/2 year veteran of the New York State Police. She was a School Resource Officer for the Unadilla Valley Central School and Franklin School Districts. Mattice is originally from Cheektowaga, outside of Buffalo.  She had just left school when the crash happened just before 3pm Wednesday afternoon.  Mattice is the first female state trooper to be killed in the line of duty.
