Ranger Félix Rodríguez Puerto Rico Dept of Natural Environmental Resources, Puerto Rico End of Watch: Tuesday, March 23, 2010 Age: 31 Badge Number: NA Years on The Job: NA Cause of Death: Shot and killed   Ranger Félix Rodríguez and Ranger Kenneth Betancourt were shot to death while talking to three men who were had jumped a fence at the agency's headquarters in San Juan at around 1:00 am. Both rangers Betancourt and Rodríguezhad were assigned to a security detail at the headquarters. As they confronted the trespassers the men opened fire on them, who were able to return fire. Ranger Betancourt and Ranger Rodríguez both suffered fatal wounds during the shootout. One of the suspects was also wounded. The suspects stole the patrol car and gun of one of the rangers and then fled. All three were arrested a short time later after police received a telephone tip from a witness.
